1.0 RFI TITLE: Ziess microcope Lasers and Arivis Software 2.0 AGENCY: United States Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) 3.0 OFFICE: Medical Toxicology Research Division 4.0 LOCATION: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 5.0 SUBJECT: The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is conducting market research to determine whether a commercial solution can be provided to meet requirements for Microscope Lasers and Arivis Software compatible with a Zeiss Z.1 Lightsheet Microscope and its components.� This market research may also assist with the further development and/or refinement of the requirements. 6.0 DISCLAIMER: This is a Request for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought Notice, as defined in FAR 15.201(e), to ascertain whether a commercial item exists that provides the capabilities described herein.�� This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kind of offers will be considered in response to this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. In keeping with the standards of FAR Part 10, the Government may request additional information from responders. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI or any follow-up information request. All information received in response to this RFI or any follow-up information request that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. At this time, questions concerning the composition and requirements for a future request for proposal will not be entertained. 7.0 DESCRIPTION: The Medical Toxicology Research Division of USAMRICD has a requirement to procure Microscope Lasers and Arivis Software compatible with the Zeiss Z.1 Lightsheet Microscope and its components. The Government already owns a Zeiss Z.1 Lightsheet Microscope. Some of the lasers need to be replaced, and the Government has a need for up to three years� worth of Arivis Software. Specifically, the needed lasers are: 1 Solid State Laser 405nm, 50mW (D) Variability of wavelength from Laser to Laser: 405nm +/- 5nm 1 Laser 445nm 25mW Variability of wavelength from Laser to Laser: 445nm +/- 5nm 1 Solid State Laser 488nm, 50mW (D) Variability of wavelength from Laser to Laser: 488nm +/- 5nm 1 Laser 515nm 50mW Variability of wavelength from Laser to Laser: 515nm +/- 0.5nm The lasers need to be compatible for use with the Zeiss Zen Software program. The needed software shall have the following capabilities: Up to three years of Arivis Pro for 2 workstations Must be compatible with the Zeiss Z.1 Lightsheet Microscope and all components File formats must be compatible with the existing database in the laboratory, which includes .sis and .czi file formats Capable of importing image data sets (x, y, z, t, ch) of unlimited size, which often exceed 1 TB Media-handler for import of a wide range of biological image data formats Capable of working on data regardless of available RAM 2D/3D/4D Viewer, Gallery Viewer, Info Viewer Capable of creating and exporting sectional planes Has a Navigational Plane to ensure optimized observer orientation in the 3D/4D view Has a Viewer for Projections in x, y, z, t Has Link Views for simultaneous 2D, 3D/4D exploration Allows 4D-Volume Clipping Has a Storyboard to create movies Has a Movie-Export in 2D, 3D and 4D Allows 3D-Rendering in native resolution Has Alignment and Stitching Has Pixel Filter, Color Handling, Annotations Has Simple Measurements, Simple Dynamics, Extended Focus Has Python Scripting Has Audit Trail, Restore Points Has History Panel for UNDO/REDO Capable of exporting Arivis data formats to other image formats Capable of sharing data with built-in Personal WebView via intranet Has Analysis Framework & Interactive Analysis Pipeline Capable of Pixel/Voxel Filter Processing Has Voxel Operations, Segmentations, Volume Attribute Filter, Report Viewer, Report Export Has Integration of Ilastik machine-learning segmentation Has Application Programming Interface (API) for MATLAB scripts Has Particle Tracker, Track Attribute Filter, Track Reports & Export Has Track Editor for interactive quality control, editing and correction 8.0 SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Interested businesses shall submit a brief capabilities statement package (no more than five 8.5 X 11 inch pages, font no smaller than 10 point) demonstrating ability to provide the products/systems listed in this Technical Description. Documentation should be in bullet format. No phone or email inquiries requesting a status of any potential future solicitations will be accepted, prior to the posting of that subject solicitation. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice, including any capabilities statement, shall be electronically submitted to the Contract Specialist, Ireneusz Jozwiak (ireneusz.a.jozwiak.civ@health.mil), in either Microsoft Word or Portable Document Format (PDF) format via email and reference this RFI number in the subject line of the e-mail and on all enclosed documents. Information and materials submitted in response to this request WILL NOT be returned. DO NOT SUBMIT CLASSIFIED MATERIAL. If your organization has the potential capacity to provide the required products/systems, please provide the following information: 1) Organization name, address, primary points of contact (POCs) and their email address, Web site address, telephone number, type of ownership for the organization, registered Cage Code, and SAM ID; and 2) Tailored capability statements addressing the requirements of this notice, with appropriate documentation supporting claims of organizational and staff capability. If significant subcontracting or teaming is anticipated in order to deliver technical capability, organizations should address the administrative and management structure of such arrangements. All data received in response to this Sources Sought Notice that is marked or designated as corporate or proprietary will be fully protected from any release outside the Government. 9.0 SUBMISSION CONTACT INFORMATION:� Interested entities shall forward submissions to Ireneusz Jozwiak at ireneusz.a.jozwiak.civ@health.mil no later than 6:00 PM Eastern Time, 02 August 2023.
