Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground - Natick Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Solider Center (DEVCOM-SC), intends to award on a brand name, sole source basis under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements; a Firm Fixed Price contract to Silgan Plastic Food Containers Corporation for the fabrication of UGR trays which incorporate a retort-shock resistant EVOH copolymer barrier layer. Silgan maintains a unique and proprietary manufacturing technology, Rotary ThermoForming (RTF), which offers their customers a number of technical and commercial advantages. Natick Contracting Division anticipates awarding this contract to Silgan Plastic Food Containers Corporation, 710 W Park RD, Union, MO, 63084, United States. This is not a request for quotes. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561910.
