The purpose of this RFI is to obtain knowledge and information for project planning purposes only. PURPOSE: The U. S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), is seeking sources capable of providing Deblocker systems. Contractor will perform the fabrication, assembly, integration, delivery, installation, set-up, testing, commissioning, and training on the Deblocker systems. REQUIREMENTS: It is desired that the deblocking system uses the BEPs Sheets of Paper Specification for preparing sheets of intaglio printed currency for subsequent printing operations of the notes. The equipment desired shall be able to separate stacks of intaglio printed sheets that are stuck together. The equipment shall also be capable of jogging/aligning the sheets edges on two sides to make a straight stack and stacking sheets on skid for transporting to subsequent operations of notes. Sheet stacks sizes range from 1000-8000 sheets. The Deblocker sheet size needs to be nominally 700mm x 818mm. The equipment shall not require manual lifting of printed sheets. The desired throughput minimum is 10,000 sheets/hour or greater. Initial testing using BEP intaglio printed sheets on vendors equipment or prototype showing the capabilities of the deblocking system may be required as a part of the contract awarding process. All parties interested in this notice shall respond with information describing their interest, provide their capability statements and identify their business size standard and any category for which they qualify.
