- The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Sierra Nevada Region (SN) is seeking qualified small business contractors (including small, disadvantaged businesses such as HubZone Certified, 8(a) Certified, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned and Women-Owned, etc.) with Pole inspection and treatment services Contracting experience for WAPA SNR Folsom Office 114 Pakshore Drive Folsom, CA 95630-4710. The intent of this project is to the integrated wood pole inspection and treatment program is to identify, treat or reject transmission and distribution line wood poles. Please see draft performance work statement. PWS.� WAPA, part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is a federal power marketing administration that markets and delivers reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services. WAPA is one of four power marketing administrations within the US DOE.� WAPA�s SNR region serves customers in California and Nevada. SNR�s mission includes maintenance and operation of the high-voltage transmission system, including substations and high-voltage power transmission lines that deliver power to its customers. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 321114, Wood Preservation. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. This is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources prior to issuing a formal solicitation. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for information received as a result of this announcement. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. WAPA is in the process of determining the availability, adequacy, and capabilities of potential business sources prior to issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Contractor to perform effective and efficient wood pole inspection and treatment services in order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of WAPA�s power system. If no responses are received from potentially responsible small business sources, WAPA under the FAR part 19.501(b) will have completed its due diligence regarding setting this procurement aside for small businesses and will proceed with procuring this requirement on an unrestricted basis.
