- AMENDMENT 0007 issued to extend proposal due date from 08/07/2023 to 08/10/2023.� No additional requests for information will be accepted. AMENDMENT 0006 issued to provide clarification regarding the fixtures in Labs 224, 226, 228, 229, 232 and 233 per Bill Rengstorf, Site Work Coordinator, Byron, GA 07/28/2023 email request.� These labs are currently having the countertops replaced. I believe that it may have been erroneously mentioned during the site visit that the current contract to replace the countertops was to include replacing the fixtures, etc. This is not true. Please clarify all 15 Laboratories to be renovated are to be furnished and completely installed with new plumbing fixtures including Hot & Cold Water Faucets, Pure Water Faucets, Eyewashes, Air Fixtures, Vacuum Fixtures and Gas Fixtures.� Yes, in Lab 224, Lab 226, Lab 228, Lab 229, Lab 232 and Lab 233 where new counter tops are being installed the existing plumbing fixtures are being re-installed.� Therefore, as part of this requirement, all new plumbing fixtures are required to be furnished and completely installed in all 15 labs to include Labs 224, 226, 228, 229, 232 and 233. Amendment 0005 issued to provide clarifications, answers to questions submitted by interested contractor and provide picture of Lab 229. All Base Unit Drawers Are To Have Full Extension Soft Close Drawer Slides. YES. All Fume Hoods in the project are to each have 2 Cupsinks and a Ceiling Enclosure. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 111 (113) is to have a 36"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet Vented to the Hood and a 36"" Flammable Solvent Storage Base Cabinet. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 127 (130) is to have a 30"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet Vented to the Hood. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 129 (132) is to have a 30"" Flammable Solvent Storage Base Cabinet. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 213 is to have a 30"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet Vented to the Hood. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 226 is to have a 30"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet Vented to the Hood. YES. The Fume Hood in Lab 228 is to have a 30"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet Vented to the Hood and a 30"" Flammable Solvent Storage Base Cabinet. YES. In Lab 227 Replace the 60"" Wide Base Unit with a 30"" Flammable Solvent Storage Base Cabinet and a 30"" Acid Storage Base Cabinet. YES. Labs 111 (113), 127 (130), 128 (131) and 129 (132) are to each have a Vertical Pipe Chase at the island Riser. YES. Lab 229 the Sitting (Desk) Height (30"") Base Cabinets should be replaced with Standing Height (36"") Base Cabinets.� If needed the wall cabinet can be raised from its original position to allow enough clearance. YES. Will each lab be free of equipment and Personal items prior to being turned over to the contractor?� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � �� A1. All equipment and personal items will be removed by government employees prior to the start of renovation for that particular lab. Q2. Does each lab need to be fully punch-list complete to continue to the next lab? ������������������������������������������������������������������ A2. Yes, the labs will need to be put into use upon acceptance. Q3. Hood system, Should we be replacing all exhaust ducts? If not, should contractors be cleaning and verifying the integrity of ducts? �������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� A3. Replacing exhaust ducts is not required unless damaged during demo/removal of old fume hoods or install of new fume hoods. Q4. Electric, should existing electric be demolished back to the current power panel and install new power feeds to the lab rooms?��������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� �������������������������������������������������� A4. Only electrical outlets mounted to the cabinets, fume hoods, countertops and chase will need to be replaced. Electrical feeds/wire are not required unless damaged during demo. Q5. Sheet A102, note 1&2, refer to demo plans for MECH and Electrical. Will a full set of plans be provided for the contract? �If not, can we get a list of assumptions such as : New RGD�s, New lighting, Power conservation sensors to be added, etc.��� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � A5. No plans will be provided. The only assumption is that the Fume Hoods and are Presumed Asbestos Containing Material (PACM) and removal must be in accordance with the SOW. Q6. Sheet A102 references slab demo, Please indicate on a plan where this is supposed to occur.����������������������������������������������������������������������� A6. No slab demo required. Q7. Should the contractor, in the absence of full plans, assume the work necessary to provide an updated lab space with Millwork, New hood, Fresh Paint?� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � A7. No millwork or painting required unless damage occurred during demo or installation. �I.A.W. SOW - Some demolition and removal of ceiling tiles and ceiling grid around fume hoods, contractor shall re-install undamaged ceiling grid and tiles or install new ceiling grid and tiles where applicable. Q8. Will the shelving need to be replaced? ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ A8. No, however during renovation contactor can uninstall and store shelving until ready to be reinstalled. Q9. Will center chase for gas, air and water supply lines be required to go from countertop to ceiling tiles. ������������������������������ A9. No, chases will be constructed to the existing specs. Q10. Labs 224, 226, 228, 229, 232 and 233 are currently having the countertops replaced. Will the contractor be responsible for storing? ���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� �A10. Yes, contractor will carefully remove countertops and then coordinate with �Location Monitor on where to temporarily store. Q11. Are Fume Hoods variable or constant?����������������������������������� ���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� A11. All fume hoods will be Variable Volume Fume Hoods. Q12.� For the labs that are currently having the countertops replace, are fixtures, etc., being replaced as well?������ A12.� No, so this requirement will be to replace all the fixtures, etc. Amendment 0002 issued to provide Site Visit Dates and extend proposal due date.� Site Visits are scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET).� Please contact Bill Rengstorf IN ADVANCE at (478) 297-9040 to schedule which day you will attend Site Visit. Proposal due date extended from Monday, July 17, 2023 to Monday, August 7, 2023 no later than 3:00 p.m. Central Time (CT). Amendment 0001 issued to attach UPDATED Statement of Work (SOW) with added note (page 6):� All proposed cabinetry and fumd hoods must match recently installed laboratory cabinetry and fume hoods in style and construction, color, and hardware.� Attach pdf lab drawings and documents that were not able to be accessed from Statement of Work (SOW) attachment. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Southeast Area (SEA), Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Research Laboratory (SFTNRL), located at 21 Dunbar Rd., Byron, GA 31008 has a requirement (subject to the availability of funds) for space renovation of Lab 111, 127, 128, 129, 210, 212, 213, 224, 226, 227, 228, 229, 232, 233 & 267.� Seeking qualified Contractor who shall remove existing casework, counter tops, electrical and plumbing fixtures and properly dispose of them.� The contractor shall install new casework, electrical, gas and plumbing fixtures. The contractor shall furnish all labor and materials for the described project in strict conformity with safety, standards, laws, statutes, and ordinances for a chemical/biological research laboratory biosafety level 2 (BSL2) in a federal facility.� Work shall be performed in strict accordance as detailed in attached Statement of Work (SOW). VARIANCE on 2ND FLOOR Labs � Labs 224, 226, 228, 229, 232 & 233 will already have newly installed counter tops. Contractor will carefully remove and store newly installed counter tops and fixtures to be reinstalled onto the newly installed casework. To ensure limited interruption of lab research there can only be one lab renovated at a time. This will be a phased project starting with the 1st floor Labs (111, 127, 128, 129).� Upon completion and acceptance of lab renovation, work will be scheduled and started on the next lab. Once 1st floor labs are completed, work will be scheduled for the 2nd floor labs. The solicitation number is 12405B23R0015. �This is being solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220.� The small business size standard is $45.0M. Site Visit: Bidders are encouraged to visit the site and be escorted by a government representative to confirm locations, dimensions, and conditions of the project before a bid is submitted.
