- RFQ 36L79723Q0003 Amendment 0001 Page 2 of 2 Question 1. In Section B.4 List of Deliverables 3. Training of Operating/Maintenance Personnel Item b, calls for 5 calendar days of onsite training. Please validate 2-days or 5-days of onsite training is required to support this solicitation. Answer 1. Two (2) days of onsite training shall be provided. Refer to the revised List of Deliverables Section 3 b. included in Amendment 0001. Question 2. Please validate that the Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) is needed only for the Wash System Controls (as indicted in B.3 Technical Specifications). Answer 2. Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) shall be installed for all equipment that applies. (Minimum 2-hour back-up). Refer to the revised Statement of Work section 5.4.5. included in Amendment 0001. Question 3. Confirm if existing conduits, wire and circuit breakers may be reused and reworked as needed for the new washer extractors and ironing system. Answer 3. All conduits, wire and circuit breakers shall be new for both the new washer extractors and ironing system. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, section 5.1.1. included in Amendment 0001. Question 4. Confirm if the existing disconnect switches may be reused with new fuses, and new conduit & wire from the switches to washers installed. Answer 4. New disconnect switches along with fuses, conduit and wire shall be new from the switches to the washer extractors being installed. Question 5. Where existing GFI duplex receptacles previously installed in 2012 at each equipment location, may these existing circuits be reused and new receptacles installed in existing the boxes? Answer 5. Yes, the existing GFI duplex circuits may be reused with new receptables installed in existing boxes. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, section 5.10 included in Amendment 0001. Question 6. Due to the space available along the new glass staph barrier wall, there is not enough room for a sliding/bifold door and a normal personnel glass barrier door. Please validate if the glass staph barrier wall is to be constructed with 1-each sliding/bifold door or 1-each normal personnel door. Answer 6. The contractor shall provide an automatic glass door with overhead sensors on the soil and clean sides; at a minimum the automatic glass door shall be forty inches wide within the staph barrier wall. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, Staph Barrier Wall for Washer Extractors section, paragraph 4 included in Amendment 0001. Question 7. It was discussed during the pre-solicitation site visit that the vacuum system option on the spreader feeder was not needed to support this project. Please validate that this option can be removed and disregarded for the final solicitation response. Answer 7. The built-in vacuum system as stated in the previously issued Technical Specifications paragraph 9 has been removed in its entirety. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0002, Ordering Data (Medium Production Combination Spreader Feeding Machine) section included in Amendment 0001. Question 8. Since the folder cross folder is specified as 208 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles electrical configuration, please confirm the stacker conveyor is also to be manufactured with 208 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles electrical configuration. Answer 8. Yes, the stacker conveyor shall be manufactured with 208 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles electrical configuration. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0002, Ordering Data Medium Production Folder Cross-Folder with Large Piece Stacker Conveyor section, paragraph 21, included in Amendment 0001. Question 9. Section 4. Plumbing Requirements Item 4.1 states Grooved or Mechanical Fittings are NOT allowed on piping . Please verify if grooved or mechanical fittings are allowed. Answer 9. Grooved or mechanical fittings are NOT allowed on any plumbing piping to include but not limited to waste, steam, and condensate etc. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, sections 3.6.8. and 4.1, included in Amendment 0001. Question 10. Please verify that only drains directly connected to the Washer Extractors need to be cleaned. Answer 10. The drain lines affecting the new washers extending out to the nearest sewer line manhole are to be cleaned. Drain lines for the new washers shall be hydro-jetted clean utilizing commercial/industrial, high pressure water jet drain/sewer cleaning equipment to ensure that the lines are properly flushed and restored as much as possible to full, free-flowing capacity. Any built-up lint and debris could be pulled back to the manhole using this method. At the same time, the drain lines shall be scoped with a video camera to observe interior surface conditions and confirm that the drain lines are cleaned. This shall be performed via the existing manhole located at the rear of the TCPF building. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, Ordering Data (Washer Extractors) section, paragraph 25 included in Amendment 0001. Question 11. Existing ironer exhaust goes out through the wall. Should the new ironer match existing exhaust configuration or exhaust through roof? Answer 11. The contractor shall exhaust through the side of the building (using the existing configuration). Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0002, Ordering Data (Medium Production for Flatwork Ironer) section, paragraph 1 included in Amendment 0001. Question 12. Is Electrical Panel #2 in BLDG 7 currently in service? Are any active devices connected to this panel? It was communicated by staff during site visit that this panel was not being used. Answer 12. No, electrical panel #2 is out of service. The Electrical Panel #2 when in service powers the building Air Handler. The electrical panel has been locked out, and the power has been switched off. The contractor shall not perform any service, tie in or remove the electrical panel. Refer to the revised Statement of Work section 2.10, included in Amendment 0001. Question 13. This RFI concerns piping that is located to the left of the Washer Extractors on the clean side. Does the yellow roof drainpipe need to be removed? It is currently disconnected below the floor. Answer 13. No, the yellow drain/vent pipe shall not be removed. Refer to the revised Statement of Work section 2.11, included in Amendment 0001. Question 14. Can the blue conduit piping remain in place, and be attached to the new staph barrier wall? Answer 14. Yes, the blue conduit piping by the washers may remain in place and may be attached to the new staph barrier wall, as long as, the pipes do not interfere with the automatic door. Refer to the revised Statement of Work section 2.12, included in Amendment 0001. Question 15. Confirm if washers are (or not) to be furnished with wastewater heat recovery capability. Answer 15. The washers will not be furnished with wastewater heat recovery capabilities. The wastewater heat recovery capabilities as stated in the previously issued Technical Specifications ltem 0001 has been removed in its entirety, refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, included in Amendment 0001. Question 16. Confirm if new washers are (or not) to be furnished for manual loading. Answer 16. The washer extractors shall be furnished for manual loading. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, included in Amendment 0001. Question 17. Confirm the new washers are to be 208 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycle, not 480 volts as stated. Answer 17. Yes, the electrical characteristics are 208 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, Ordering Data (Washer Extractors) section, paragraph 14 included in Amendment 0001. Question 18. Confirm if washers are (or not) to be furnished with water reuse capability. Answer 18. No, the washer extractors will not be furnished with the reuse capabilities. The water reuse as stated in the previously issued Technical Specifications ltem 0001, Ordering Data (Washer Extractors) section, paragraph 15 has been removed in its entirety, refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, Ordering Data (Washer Extractors section) included in Amendment 0001. Question 19. Confirm if the Contractor or the VA is responsible for relocating the existing liquid chemical injection system, accessories, and chemicals. Answer 19. The TCPF will contact the chemical vendor to move the chemical injection system over when the contractor has the new chemical storage system ready. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0001, Staph Barrier Wall for Washer Extractors section, paragraph 5, included in Amendment 0001. Question 20. Confirm if the Contractor or the VA is responsible for relocating the existing SilvaClean ionic silver treatment system and accessories. Answer 20. The TCPF will contact the ionic silver treatment system and accessories vendor when the contractor has the new chemical storage system ready. Question 21. Is the Contractor or VA responsible for providing the domestic hot & cold water, compressed air and electric utilities in the new chemical storage area? Answer 21. The contractor shall provide the domestic hot and cold water including compressed air and electrical utilities in the new chemical storage area. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, section 2.13, included in Amendment 0001. Question 22. Is the Contractor or VA responsible for relocating the existing eye wash station to the new chemical area? Answer 22. The contractor shall relocate the eye wash station to the new chemical area. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, section 2.14, included in Amendment 0001. Question 23. Is the Contractor required to remove the existing double hand sink in the soil area to accommodate relocating the chemical storage area; and provide a new single laundry tub type sink with facet? Answer 23. The contractor shall remove the existing double hand sink in the soiled area to accommodate the new chemical storage area and shall provide a new single laundry tub type sink with faucet and connect to water system. Refer to the revised Statement of Work, section 2.15, included in Amendment 0001. Question 24. Is the Contractor required to provide new conduits between the new chemical area and each washer to enable the VA s chemical vendor to install pumping control cables? Answer 24. No, the contractor is not required to provide new conduits between the new chemical area and each washer extractor. Question 25. Confirm discharge to takeaway conveyor requirement is a typo. Answer 25. There is no discharge take away conveyor. Refer to the revised Technical Specification Item 0002, Ordering Data Medium Production Folder Cross-Folder with Large Piece Stacker Conveyor section, paragraph 17, included in Amendment 0001.
