Notice of Intent to Sole Source to Claflin Service Company NAICS Code: 339112 - Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing PSC/FSC: 6530- Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils, And Supplies POTS: 23-009307 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Claflin Service Company of Warwick, Rhode Island for the supply of blood donor/phlebotomy and bariatric chairs. Recommended Source: Claflin Service Company 1206 Jefferson Blvd Warwick, RH 02886-2204 Line Items:��������� Description� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � Quantity 01 ��������� ��������������� Motorized Positioning Chair W/Metal Legs� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � �10 02���������� ��������������� Bariatric Motorized Positioning Chair w/Metal Legs 500 LB Limit� � � � � � � � 2 03���������� ��������������� Base with Pull Out Step� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � �12 04�������������������������� Delivery and Installation Services Claflin Service Company of Warwick is an authorized dealer for Dacor Manufacturing for the supply of blood donor/phlebotomy and bariatric chairs.� Claflin Service Company is the only known vendor that can supply motorized electric blood donor/phlebotomy and bariatric chairs to match the existing chairs purchased from Dacor Manufacturing.� The motorized chairs can easily and safely adjust to different positions.� Staff can quickly adjust the patient�s chair into the Trendelenburg position in the event of a donor/patient adverse reaction during the procedure. �The chairs are not only motorized and ergonomic to provide comfort to the patient. �The chair has a lower storage shelf that can accommodate the donor/patient�s belongings. �No other motorized chair comes with a lower shelf.� In addition, the new chairs need to match the existing chairs which gives the department the ability to move the chairs around if needed without concern for any of them looking out of place.� Furthermore, the chairs need to be a specific size / dimensions to fit in the current floorplan.� If the department procured from chairs from a different vendor and not an authorized Dacor Manufacturer dealer, it would be required to replace all the chairs would cause a duplication of costs to the government.� Retaining the current chairs and procuring the exact same chairs from Claflin Service Company would save the government time and maintain an esthetically pleasing environment to NIH patients and staff in displaying a professional environment with matching chairs that are ergonomic, comfortable and motorized.�� Claflin Service Company that is known that is an authorized Dacor Manufacturing dealer that can supply the motorized chairs that match the existing chairs and has features such as vinyl protection, antifungal/antibacterial protection, and mildew resistant backing and face, antistatic slip finish, anti-stain, oil resistant and superior abrasion resistance. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
