- This announcement is a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Synopsis is to determine interest and capability of potential businesses. The Government may use responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis to make an appropriate acquisition decision for this project. The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is conducting market research for potential qualified contractors for the dry docking of the Icebreaker CGC POLAR SEA during our 2024 fiscal year that runs from 01 Oct 2023 to 31 Sept 2024. Initial performance dates are: 01 Apr 2024 to 01 Aug 2024. The requirements may be executed at any time during this window. The CGC POLAR SEA is homeported in Seattle, WA at 1519 Alaskan Way S., Seattle, WA 98134. The CGC POLAR SEA is 399 feet long, 84 feet wide. At current loading condition POLAR SEA has a draft of 24 feet and weighs approximately 8500 long tons. At full load POLAR SEA has a draft 31 feet and weights of 12,850 long tons.� NAICS Code for this requirement: 336611 � Ship Building and Repairing FSC Code for this requirement:� J999 � Non-Nuclear Ship Repair (West) Size Standard: 1,300 Employees Note that during performance of the dry dock there will be a hull cleaning to remove biological growth. CGC POLAR SEA does not have any propulsion capabilities and will require towing services from homeport to the awarded dry dock facility. POLAR SEA will then require a tow to Suisun Bay, CA at the conclusion of services. Significant work items include (but not limited to): Towing Service from Base Seattle, WA to vendor�s drydock facility Drydocking Hull Cleaning Towing Service to Suisun Bay, CA for transfer to MARAD If interested, then please respond to the attached questionnaire and return it via email to Contract Specialist, Carlos Stewart, at carlos.d.stewart2@uscgmil.
