- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-23-2183343 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2023-04 June 2, 2023. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325414, Biological Product (Except Diagnostic) Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1250 employees. The requirement is being competed with a brand name restriction, and with a small business set-aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement for the following Brand Name Supplies: Chromium Next GEM Single Cell 3' Kit v3.1, 16 rxns, product code 1000268, quantity-4 Chromium Next GEM Single Cell 5' Kit v2, 16 rxns, product code 1000263, quantity-3 Shipping and Handling, quantity-1 The Laboratory of Immune Systems Biology is studying the systems biology of the immune system on a global scale, and at single cell resolution. The 10x Genomics single cell platform allows transcriptional and cell surface protein profiling of tens of thousands of single cells in parallel to see how healthy and diseased states affect gene expression and cellular function at high resolution in an easy-to-use platform, consisting of the 10x Chromium or Chromium X Controller hardware, and the companion kits of reagents and consumables that allow use of the system. Project Description: These reagents will be used on an existing NIH-owned 10x Chromium or Chromium X Controller to examine the transcriptomic state and cell surface proteome of hundreds of thousands of human skin cells and millions of blood immune cells from adult healthy donors as well as donors with a variety of different inflammatory or infectious skin diseases, particularly infections with the protozoan parasite Leishmania. These data will allow the dissection of cell types, cell states, and gene-gene networks that underlie human skin immune responses in health and disease.
