- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division intends to negotiate with Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc. located in North Kingstown, RI on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b), soliciting from a single source, for a Leica AT-960-LR Laser Tracker System used for mission critical antenna calibration services using an array of equipment items meeting critical technical specifications and interoperability with compatible scientific equipment in the overall setup. Specific Requirements are as follows: Item 1: Leica AT960-LR Laser Tracker System Quantity: 1 Specifications: 1.1 Consists of: i.��� 6DoF laser tracker unit AT960-LR ii. Item 4: T-Mac Frame TMC30-F Starter Kit Quantity: 1 Specifications: 4.1 - T-Mac Frame TMC30-F Starter Kit The T-Mac Frame TMC30-F Starter Kit is a configurable 6DoF machine control probe for use with any Leica 6 DoF Laser tracker. The T-Mac TMC30-F Starter Kit can be used to create customized multisided probe configurations with anywhere from 1 to 4 frames (faces). To the T-Mac Frame TMC30-F Starter Kit up to 3 additional T-Mac Frames TMC30-F (576398) can be connected in addition. The TMC30-F Starter Kit consists of: i.��������� T-Mac Frame TMC30-F (576398) incl. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc. for this requirement. Interested parties that can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirement listed above for NIST must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. If competitive procedures are not used it is estimated that an award will be issued 4th Quarter of FY23. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AN OPEN COMPETITION: Market research resulted in Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc. being the only vendor to provide a commercial Leica AT-960-LR Laser Tracker System used for mission critical antenna calibration services using an array of equipment items meeting critical technical specifications and interoperability with compatible and existing scientific equipment in the overall setup.� �A unit differing from the referenced item that does not meet these specifications would be incompatible from that required to proceed with the project, and NIST would have to attempt to develop something which would cause unreasonable costs, delays and lead to the project potentially failing or being cancelled. �
