________________________________________________________________________________________ Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED.� The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract with Nichevision Forensics, LLC whose address is 526 S. Main Street, Akron, OH 44311, to procure DNA software licenses (upgrades and maintenance). It is the intent of the Government award a sole source contract to Nichevision Forensics, LLC to procure a DNA software licenses (upgrades and maintenance). The period of performance for this contract will be for one (1) 12-month base period, and four (4) 12-month option periods. This action is authorized under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), �Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Only this suggested source can furnish the requirement due to the Government requiring DNA software licenses from NicheVision Forensics, LLC (upgrades and maintenance) for the period of performance stated above.� These products have been tested and evaluated for use within the validated DNA testing workflows use for casework, missing persons, and intelligence testing.� The Laboratory Division has been using STRMix, DBLR, FaSTR, and Pace SW successfully for operational DNA casework for almost 5 years and it is fully integrated into the IT infrastructure and enterprise-level DNA LIMS system.� NicheVision�s product is the only alternative that will allow DSU/DCU to automate DNA interpretations, approve efficiency of analysis, reduce subjectivity concerns and move to the NGS of DNA mixture interpretation with the world-wide forensic DNA community. This notice will be distributed solely through the SAM.gov website.� Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the SAM.gov website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition.� The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 513210 Software Publishers; Nichevision Forensics, LLC (JMJ1CDPA4P66) is a Small Business. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the Government will consider any responses from capable sources received no later than 8:00am EST, August 24, 2023.
