- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 75N95023Q00646 and the solicitation is issued as request for quotation (RFQ). This acquisition is for a commercial item or service and is conducted under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13Simplified Acquisition Procedures; and FAR Part 12Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The NIDA IRP animal facility current houses several adult male rhesus macaques. Providing adequate caging is a necessary part of maintaining these animals within the regulatory standards set forth by both the ""Animal Welfare Act & Regulations"" (AWA), as well as the ""Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals"" (The Guide). Primary enclosures for these animals must meet certain specifications set forth by these regulations. The purpose of this acquisition is to increase our supply of non-human primate (NHP) caging, appropriately sized for large rhesus macaques housed within the NIDA IRP animal facility. Obtaining additional caging units would ensure that the NIDA IRP stays within compliance to maintain American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) accreditation, as well as generate cost savings for labor, energy, materials, and mechanical wear and tear over time, by increasing the efficiency of weekly cage changes. This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement for five Rockville Steel and Manufacturing Company (RSM) Apartment Modules, with associated peripherals.
