Description
Dyess AFB is seeking a location to have a remote line-of-sight radio. The desired location is in the western Texas, eastern New Mexico area with a tower and facility to house radio equipment. Overview Dyess AFB requires an expanded radio coverage area to the far west Texas, eastern New Mexico airspace. This radio coverage is essential for mission readiness training of aircrews flying into the Lancer and Bronco military operations area (MOA) between Snyder Texas and east of Roswell New Mexico. The facility and location must have adequate floor space for the system and space on a 200 minimum tower that is within 100 from the facility. Effective training can only be accomplished when Line-of-Sight communications is networked back to the Live Mission Operations Center (LMOC) at Dyess AFB. A remote radio system will be connected to a Digital Radio Management System (DRMS) network and relayed back to a Dyess DRMS server. This will allow the expansion of Line-of-Sight communications into the eastern New Mexico region. With DRMS a controller can give effective training inputs to aircrew throughout the MOA. Allowing the crew to simulate more combat like conditions in daily training operations. More effective training means better combat ready forces using the most efficient cost-effective means available. Objective Find a location with an existing tower and shelter within 500 Preferred government owned property (Fed, State, County) Alternate if no government available leaseCommercial property with existing tower and shelter Remote Radio site requisites: Located within the Bronco 3/4 Military Operations Area (MOA)restricted airspace in far West Texas and Eastern New Mexico as defined by the FAA. A radio tower with a minimum height of 150 feet capable of mounting a UHF antenna. Location of tower must not be obstructed by any obstacles that could hinder Line-of-Sight (Los) transmission. Must have a facility or shelter with electrical power and commercial fiber communications within 500 feet from radio tower. Facility must allow DoD access and able to house radios and power supply equipment with access to fiber communications. Preferred space to allow future expansionthis is a minor requirement.
