- CLIN 0001- 64 CHANNEL ULTRASONIC PHASED ARRAY FLAW DETECTOR QUANTITY:1 EA Salient Characteristics for Olympus OmniScan X3 64:128RP Flaw Detector (2023) Objective/Scope: The objective of this task is to procure one (1) new 64 channel ultrasonic Phased Array flaw detector to support innovation in ultrasonic testing, including phase coherence imaging, in Norfolk Naval Shipyard along with accompanying software for analysis. Ultrasonic testing is used to determine if piping and structural components were welded satisfactory or unsatisfactory as well as monitoring and maintaining in service vessels. The shipyard is exploring the use of advanced PAUT techniques to make inspections more efficient and accurate. Equipment Salient Characteristics: The salient characteristics listed below reflect the characteristics essential to the minimum needs of the Government for Ultrasonic Inspection equipment: Multigroup, Multimode Ultrasonic Flaw Detector: Detector) (Olympus OmniScan X3 64:128RP Flaw Compatibility with Norfolk Naval Shipyard's current transducers (Olympus probes, wedges), storage solutions, and other accessories Compatibility with software currently owned by Norfolk Naval Shipyard: OmniPC, Weldsight 64:128 PR Phase Coherence Imaging (PCI) Portability for Full screen A-scan, height up to 800%, with up to 16,384 data points Volume corrected S-scan Programmable TCG, with 32 points Gain range at minimum O dB to 80 dB Screen range at minimum up to 450.00"" Negative square pulser with adjustable width Digital Filtering, at a minimum 8 low-pass, 6 band-pass, and 4 high-pass At minimum 64 receiving elements Single, linear, sectorial, compound and TFM scan types At minimum battery life 5 hours Before awarding contract, the ultrasonic flaw detector shall be provided to allow for testing to ensure the machine will accurately provide a usable/readable signal response for flaw detection in various piping and structural configurations inspected at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. STATEMENT OF WORK NNSV Code 138 Phase Coherence Imaging Capable UT Flaw Detector Procurement SHIPPING ADDRESS: 1.0: Introduction 1.1 Background: Code 138.3 is the Nondestructive Testing Examiner Division and is part of Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Quality Assurance Department (Code 130). This inspection division is a modern and complete nondestructive testing division responsible for the inspection and testing of metals and welding work in Norfolk Naval Shipyard shops, US naval ships in maintenance availabilities, and aboard US naval ships at Naval Station Norfolk and other sites as required. However, the Technical Point of Contact shall evaluate whether or not the equipment operates to minimum government requirements. 1.6 Familiarization, Operation, and Maintenance Training: The awardee is not required to provide training to C138 personnel.
