Description
127EAX23Q0055 � Williams Ranger District, Volunteer Fire Lookout Description of Work:� The intent of this project is to renovate the elevated fire lookout tower cabin.� The interior cabin components show asbestos containing materials.� The work� shall be set in two phases.� Phase I is demolition, which will include removal of all existing components of the cabin, including abatement and proper disposal of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM).� Phase II includes all of the improvements to the tower, shower unit, including utilities.� The renovation and utility improvements include providing and installing new flooring, subfloor, walls, framing, insulation, windows, ceiling, trim, fire finder support, kitchen cabinets, bookcase, direct vent wall heater, waterline system, electrical, painting, and reconnections of existing lightning protection system.� Location:� This location is approximately 14 miles west of Flagstaff.� To get to Volunteer, go west on Interstate 40, then turn south at the Bellemont exit, check-in will need to happen with the Navajo Army Depot and they will ensure the travel route to the tower is safe.� The roadway is fair with a few sandy areas before the road starts towards the mountain top.� The road to the mountain top is more winding and steep.� Four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to reach the site. It is highly recommended to have a four-wheel drive vehicle to transport supplies and materials to the site.� There is a small parking area at the site, which can accommodate at least two (2) standard vehicles.� Coordinates for the Volunteer fire lookout tower site are N35.217970 W111.895450, elevation is approximately 8,047 feet. Basis for Award:� The Government Anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price Contract using RFQ Lowest Price -Technically Acceptable:� Award will be made to the offer that meets or exceeds the requirements contained herein, at the price that is most advantageous to the government will be determined to be the best value.
