- Title Medfusion 4000 Syringe Pumps and Supplies Product Service Code: 6515 NAICS Code: 339112 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 23-008995 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Marathon Medical Corporation, Inc 3251 Lewiston ST STE 16 Aurora, Colorado 80011-1531 on a sole source basis for the procurement of Laboratory Equipment and supplies on behalf of the Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) at the NIH Clinical Center (CC). The Critical Care Medicine Department has preclinical studies that requires the use of the Medfusion 4000 Syringe Pumps. The pumps have unique characteristics that support the research effort by providing infusions at exceedingly low volumes. Reliable dosing is imperative for the outcome of these studies. Below are some of the key unique characteristics: ����������� Industry leading accuracy with delivery rates as low as 0.01mL/hr ����������� Wireless connectivity with remote control operability from the �cold side� of the containment laboratory. ����������� Interoperability across multiple syringe types and volumes. ����������� Staff proficiency in use of immediate prior generation of these pumps. ����������� The Medfusion 4000 pumps, are compatible across the range of syringes utilized in CCMD studies and can be easily and intuitively be programed at the bedside making them well suited for CCMD needs. The procurement will consist of the following items, the Medfusion 4000 Syringe Pump, Pharmguard Medication Safety S, and the Rotating Pole Clamp. ICU Medical and one of its small business distributors are the only known sources who can supply the equipment and supplies. In order to protect the integrity of the research, it is critical to maintain product consistency. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Tasha Lowe, Contract Specialist, lowet2@mail.nih.gov by the due date Aug 27, 2023 and time marked in this notice.
