- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order to Olink Proteomics, Inc. . In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the services for the requirement described below. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) anticipates issuing a purchase order for the acquisition of Olink Explore, a high-throughput dual probe-based protein biomarker discovery platform. Olink Explore is based on proprietary technology of Olink and is the sole manufacturer and distributor of Olink Explore panels within the United States. While detection of targeted proteins is possible with traditional mass spectroscopy proteomics, it is not possible on the scale (over 3000 probe targets simultaneously) that is offered through the Olink platform, which hastens progress towards identifying novel biomarkers for hearing instability disorders. The Olink Explore protein biomarker discovery platform will enable NIDCD to assay all patient samples related to inner ear targets before a panel could be assessed. There is a scarce number of samples ,which limits the amounts of assays which can be used. Acquiring the Olink Explore platform will increase the number of available assays. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can provide a discovery platform with the same capabilities as stated herein may submit written specifications and capabilities of that platform. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued within five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another Contractor has the capability to meet this requirement. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.gov no later than 9:00 a.m. EST on Monday, September 28, 2023. Emails received in response to this notice must reference SS-NIH-6724031 on the subject line to be identified for consideration.
