- (CUI) REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) AIR FORCE CRYPTOGRAPHIC MODERNIZATION 2 (CM2) WAY FORWARD (U) This Request for Information (RFI) is in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation clause 52.215-3 (Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes - Oct 1997) and is published to obtain information for market research and planning purposes only. (U) This RFI is NOT a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or an announcement of a solicitation; it is only intended for information or planning purposes.� There is no bid package or solicitation document associated with this announcement.� Response to this RFI is strictly voluntary and will not affect any potential offeror's ability to submit an offer if a solicitation is released.� Any requests for a solicitation package will be disregarded.� The government does not intend to award a contract based on this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited.� No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the government will arise as a result of preparing a submission in response to this RFI and the government's use of such information.� Submittals will not be returned to the sender.� Respondents to this RFI may be requested to provide additional information/details based on their initial submittals. (U) The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Cryptologic Systems Group (AFLCMC/HNC) is submitting this RFI to industry to help develop an Air Force Cryptographic Modernization 2 (CM2) way-forward. This RFI is limited to vendors providing devices for Air Force platforms only.� Answers to the questions listed below will help the Air Force gain a better understanding of when devices will reach end-of-life (EOL) and what industry is developing to replace the EOL products. ��������� (CUI) Please provide a current list of all your NSA-certified, Type 1 (High Assurance) cryptographic devices using the attached excel spreadsheet (second tab). o������� (CUI) Column A.�� Current Device Short Title (e.g., KG-XYZ) o������� (CUI) Column B.�� What is the potential CM2 replacement, or is it EOL? o������� (CUI) Column C.�� What are the estimated known quantities in the field? o������� (CUI) Column D.� What is the upgrade path� Will the replacement be upgraded via hardware (card or device swap) or software? (Please use the drop-down menu to fill) o������� (CUI) Column E.�� What is the end user per unit cost? o������� (CUI) Column F.��� When is the estimated delivery of the device (production units available)? o������� (CUI) Column G.� What is the expected process a platform/aircraft will utilize to upgrade the box in their system? (Field = O&M level, simple easy, in the field; Intermediate; Mobile team; Depot) (Please use the drop-down menu to fill) o������� (CUI) Column H.� Will there be any changes to form/fit/function? (No Change; Minimum Change; Full Change) (Please use the drop-down menu to fill) o������� (CUI) Column I.���� Will the CM2 mod be a pass-through with �no impact� and totally undetectable to the platform?� (e.g., no Aircraft OFP will be necessary), or will the CM2 mod require a �minor amount� of integration by the platform? (e.g., a ""small"" amount of integration funds will be necessary by the platform), or will the CM2 mod require �extensive� integration by the platform?� (e.g., will require a large amount of integration funds).
