THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Good and Services Team � SAP WEST , Joint Administrative Operations intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of: 8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source only one responsible source To Fisher Scientific Company L.L.C. 300 Industry Dr Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15275-1001, United States The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334516 1,000 Employees The object of this sole source award to Fisher Scientific company is to provide Sequencing kits, genetic analyzer, and buffer products we require from Fisher that are compatible with our existing laboratory equipment and protocols, ensuring seamless integration into our workflow. These products have been validated for use in our specific application and no other vendor offers a comparable solution, and any other extraction kits would not 1) be compatible with the 3500 DNA analyzer or 2) be validated for use in forensic casework. Other potential sources do not have the equipment that meet the necessary requirements. The items required are vital to our casework, and are specific to our existing Genetic Analyzer 3500xL equipment. This equipment and the consumables have been validated for use in wildlife forensic casework. The use of validated protocols and reagents and the ability to maintain consistency between procedures is crucial to forensic genetic analyses, and is required under the guidelines of our Accreditation under ISO 17025 This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation; however, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. If parties choose to respond, any cost associated with preparation and submission of data or any other cost incurred in response to this announcement are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
