Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts�Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR Propulsion and�Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement�FA8122-19-G-0001 on a sole source basis with General Electric (GE), 1000�Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (1,499 Kits) for a buy of�improved Main Fuel Manifold Tubes and B-Nuts for the F414 engine, GE kit�Part Number 1953T20. The new attachment system will help B-Nuts from backing�off and preveing possible leaks. Similar B-nut ECPs (e.g A-18, C-32, C-31)�attack similar B-nut interfaces, all of which have been linked to possible�fires and safety related events.� The Government intends to procure under�the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible�source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only�contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current F414�engine required for this effort.
