- DESCRIPTION: The US Army Contracting Command-New Jersey, Picatinny, NJ 07806-5000 (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Product Director, Crew Served Weapons is issuing this sources sought notice as a means of conducting market research to identify potential sources having an interest to manufacture the following: Cleaning Rod Section, Swab Holder Section (Cleaning Patch Holder), Cleaning Rod Handle Assembly (Handle Assembly) which are all part of the Basic Issue Items (BII) for the M240 Machine Gun. These items are required to place the M240 Machine Gun into operation, maintain it, and to do emergency repairs. Cleaning Rod Section, Part Number 7266109, NSN: 1005-00-726-6109 Cleaning Patch Holder, Part Number 7266110, NSN: 1005-00-726-6110 Handle Assembly, Part Number 12900436, NSN: 5340-01-265-2683 SPECIFICATION/REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: The Government requires the fabrication, inspection, assembly, and packaging in accordance with (IAW) provided U.S. Government drawings and Specialized Packaging Instructions (SPI). The intent of this Sources Sought is to assess the state-of-the art technology available and vendors that are capable of fabrication of the Cleaning Rod Section, Cleaning Patch Holder), and the Cleaning Rod Handle Assembly. Responding Sources shall provide: Manufacturing capabilities. � Experience in manufacturing military small arms weapons, accessories, assemblies, and spare parts. Heat treat capabilities (including induction hardening, through hardening, stress relieving), Final protective finish capabilities (including chrome, phosphate and anodizing). Description of facilities/equipment Inspection capability to include compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 or equivalent Registration with State Department under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Confirmation of established configuration Management procedure to include proprietary technical data. Personnel�s past experience. Current production capacity per month. ELIGIBILITY The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 332994-Small Arms, Ordnance, and Ordnance Accessories Manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. SUBMISSION DETAILS: Interested businesses should submit a brief capabilities statement package (no more than ten 8.5 X 11 inch pages, font no smaller than 10 point) demonstrating ability to provide the products/systems listed in this Description. Documentation should be in bullet format. No telephone inquires will be accepted as this is for Market Research purposes only. Your response to this Sources Sought, including any capabilities statement, shall be electronically in either Microsoft Word or Portable Document Format (PDF) and reference this notice number in subject line of e-mailed and on all enclosed documents. Information and materials submitted in response to this request WILL NOT be returned. DO NOT SUBMIT CLASSIFIED MATERIAL.
