- Description
- U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) C5ISR Center RTI Directorate is seeking information on advanced fuel cell Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) using sustainable and clean fuels to reduce signature and greenhouse gas emissions for unmanned ground vehicles, modular command equipment, and/or power generation. More specifically there is interest in exploring alternatives to Polyfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) Membranes for extreme temperatures due to PFSAs risk of contamination of water supplies, novel hydrogen generation methods or carriers, improvements to the lifetimes of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) that can support the use of more complex fuels and offer higher volumetric energy densities, containment tolerant catalysts with the ability to endure sulfur contaminants for extended periods of time, sulfur removal systems, and systems capable of using fuel such as butane, DME, or ethanol. Responses to this announcement can focus on a single portion of the fuel cell system or can incorporate multiple aspects
