Description
Networking event focused on collaboration opportunities Event Overview: Join us on a remarkable journey into the future of space exploration. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has years of investment in developing In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing capabilities and is at the forefront of advancing sustainable, affordable, and resilient spaceflight. In the coming decade, the capability for robotic in-space servicing will revolutionize space exploration, offering resilient and reconfigurable options to extend science operations and renew scientific measurements near the Earth, the Moon, and deep into the solar system. These activities encompass a wide range of capabilities, including spacecraft repair, refueling, relocation, and retrofitting, as well as robot-assisted deployment, assembly, and aggregation, all aimed at extending the lifetime and capability of our space missions. Goddard is uniquely positioned to partner with industry to leverage our expertise and state-of-the-art facilities for advanced research in in-space servicing technologies, built upon the profound history and unique expertise from the Hubble Space Telescope servicing missions. NASAs Exploration and In-space Services Division (NExIS) experts will be available to provide an opportunity to exchange insights, foster partnerships, and spark innovation in the field of ISAM. Purpose: NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, invites domestic companies to share our mutual visions for a sustainable future in space. We look forward to discussing opportunities to collaborate on research and demonstrations missions that will extend humanitys reach into the future. NASA Goddard invites industry leaders driving technological advancements aligned with NExIS technology portfolio to network on shared capabilities that could be leveraged for collaborative opportunities. Areas for discussion include: ISAM Capability: Relative navigation algorithms and technologies Servicing avionics & software Dexterous robot arm and software systems Robotic tools, tool drive system and mating mechanisms Fluid Transfer Systems (storables and cryogens) Modular/Cooperative servicing interfaces and systems Collaboration Catalysts Access to cutting-edge research and technology Collaboration opportunities in human spaceflight, space exploration, and commercial space activities Joining an innovative community of practice passionate about robotic space exploration Potential for inspiration and lasting impact on your companys legacy Participation: Industry engagement is open to US companies and will be hosted on Monday, Nov 6, 2023 at the Goddard Space Flight Visitor Center conveniently located 30 minutes from Washington DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis. Additional virtual discussions will be scheduled at a later date if we cannot accommodate all requests. Attendance at this event is not required to engage with NExIS regarding partnerships or Technology Transfer. Interested parties are encouraged to contact NASA by sending an e-mail to the point of contact listed below. As part of its assessment of industry capabilities, NASA may contact respondents to this synopsis for clarifications or further information that would facilitate NASA technical subject matter representation at the event. As NASA aims to establish a thriving ISAM ecosystem, industry collaboration is essential for developing and maturing future technologies. Join NASA on this remarkable journey into the future of space exploration. Event Details Date: Monday, Nov 6, 2023 Location: NASA Goddard Visitor Center, 9432 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt, MD 20771 Deadline: To express interest in participation, please contact Patricia Manalansan by Friday, October 20th at 5pm Eastern Time by addressing an email to Patricia.A.Manalansan@nasa.gov with NExIS Industry Engagement in the Subject field Remote Participation: Additional discussions will be scheduled at a later date if we cannot accommodate all requests.
