Description
36C24623B0061 Renovation of Welcome Center Amendment 0004 - Responses to Follow-Up Vendor Questions (NOTE: Question Numbering continued from Amendment 0002) There was not a geotechnical report included in the bid documents for review but is indicated to be available per Sheet S0.01 Note 4.1. Response: Please refer to the Final Geotechnical Report attached to this Amendment. Referencing Specification Section 31 20 11, paragraph 1.4.a indicates that this site is considered an UNCLASSIFED. However, in paragraph 3.2.E indicates when unsuitable material is encountered and removed, the contract price and time will be adjusted in accordance with Articles, DIFFERING SITE CONDITIONS, CHANGES and CHANGES-SUPPLEMENT of the GENERAL CONDITIONS as applicable. Adjustments to be based on meters (yardage) in cut section only. Please clarify the classification of the site. Response: The site is considered to be UNCLASSIFIED. Any unsuitable material that is encountered and removed will be addressed using the Differing Site Conditions and Changes Clauses after contract award. There is some confusion regarding the definitions for DG-1 and GL-1. DG-1 is defined on the Material Schedule (AF600) as part of the wall cladding (Forms + Surfaces Level E Wall Cladding Capture Panel); however, details 11 & 12 on AE211 use GL-1 to refer to the lightplane panels used at the Level E Wall Cladding Capture Panel. Response: Revise DG-1 to GL-1 at all locations. GL-1 is also used for Reception B65 (9/AE211), but the cross-section for this (6/AE551) states finish____ for this panel. That same cross-section (6/AE551) is used on 4/AE411 where the panel there is called out as DG-1. GL-1 is found nowhere else in the specifications or plans in order to know what this is. Response: Revise DG-1 to GL-1 at all locations.  At 6/AE551, revise Finish______ to GL-1.  Additionally, DG-1 is used on the casework at Lobby B60W (1/AE211) and ROI Check-In B67A (4/AE411). Response: Revise DG-1 to GL-1 at all locations. The definition for DG-1 per the material schedule makes it seem incompatible with the casework since it is a component of the Level E Wall Cladding Capture Panel. Response: Revise DG-1 to GL-1 at all locations. DG-1 is a sheet of glass that can be used with the Level-E wall cladding system (backlit at elevator lobbies) or without (at reception desks). DG-2 appears to be used on at B73 (on location between desks, and another between B73 and B60W Lobby per 1/AE412 and subsequent details all aligning). Can you provide clarity on the definitions and uses for DG-1, DG-2, and GL-1? Response: Revise DG-1 to GL-1 at all locations. DG-2 is a separate product entirely see Specification Section 08 81 00.
