- Description
- SPECIAL NOTICE.� This is a Sole Source requirement.� The United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) is one of six regional�Combatant Commands responsible for the command and control of all military operations worldwide. As such, USSOUTHCOM generates significant amounts of classified and sensitive, but unclassified�documents that must be destroyed in accordance with National Security Agency standards. The Security�Engineered Machinery (SEM) Model 23/5 Disintegrator, which is currently in operation at�USSOUTHCOM, is designed for heavy volume destruction of paper, optical media, key tape, and a�variety of media in various waste particle sizes.��The briquettor system produces compact briquettes from the shredded material, thereby reducing waste�volume by up to 90%. The objective of the preventive maintenance service is to ensure the disintegrator�with briquettor system remains in an operational condition to destroy the Command.s classified and�sensitive but unclassified materials daily. Preventive maintenance and blade sharpening services must be�conducted quarterly to ensure the proper operation of the equipment. For unforeseen events which cause�the disintegrator or briquettor to become inoperative, the Contractor may be required to conduct an�emergency or non-emergency call between normally scheduled preventive maintenance service calls.�
