Description: The Army is working to consolidate the variety of ground satellite equipment in its portfolio, leveraging a more versatile family of systems approach, while retaining the acquisition flexibility to insert new technologies as they evolve. In support, the Army released a request for information (RFI) to industry on June 13, 2023, as part of market research to identify potential sources, capabilities, alternative ideas, and approaches for the continued development, production, and sustainment of the Family of TerminalsLarge (FoT-L) satellite communication (SATCOM) antennas. These antennas range from approximately 2.2-2.4 meters in size. The overarching FoT-L goal is to reduce the number of large terminal antenna variants in Project Manager Tactical Networks portfolio from six variants to two. Near term goals of the FoT-L effort are to reduce total cost of large tactical terminals, number of variants, logistics burden, and training variations across the user community. Long term goals support continuous fielding of modern technology to the Warfighter that enhance capability, transportability, adaptability, and modularity, while reducing complexity and cognitive burden. The original FoT-L RFI can be found on SAM.gov at the following link: https://sam.gov/opp/94bf0578829b464d8744c698726a20c5/view As part of continuing market research and a follow-on to the RFI, the Army will host an FoT-L Industry Event, which will kick off with an on-site General Session on November 7, 2023, at 0900 (EST). During the General Session, Army representatives will provide an FoT-L overview, programmatic goals and desired outcomes; along with technical, logistics and contracting presentations, including lessons learned from the June 23, 2023 FoT-L RFI.
