- Description
- Purchase of 4 Presto A85 208-230V/3PPE/60Hz Highly Dynamic Temperature Control Systems with 1-year warranties for each, and 9 Magio MS-100F 115V/60Hz Refrigerated/Heating Circulator with 1-year warranties for each. On September 01, 2023, a broken water line caused flooding inside the Closed System Chamber (CSC) at the Bushnell Materiel Test Facility (BMTF) which houses three test fixtures for the West Desert Test Center. Approximately 4600 gallons of water filled the CSC covering everything on the chamber floor. Thirteen Julabo temperature control systems were exposed to 12 inches of water. The smaller temperature control systems were nearly completely submerged. After cleaning the flood in the CSC, each temperature control system was inspected for damages. Noticeable corrosion was observed on the electrical component boards inside the temperature control systems. None of the units were functional. With up coming tests set to begin the first part of December, it is vital that the proper temperature control systems are installed and programmed within the current system to function properly. If the temperature control systems are not in place, the test fixtures will not function as designed and the temperature/humidity requirements for the upcoming tests will not be met. The Chemical Test Division has made great efforts to standardize the systems on each test fixture to cut costs and increase interoperability of test fixtures. The current test fixtures use Julabo temperature control systems for fixture temperature and humidity control. Each temperature control systems are remotely controlled and operated by the test fixture control software. Replacing the temperature control systems with that of another vendor would require additional work to reprogram the test fixture control software. This would require additional time and money to accomplish and would result in falling behind in schedule and costing more money to reprogram the fixture control software.
