An invitation for bids will be posted on or about December 1, 2023. This project primarily includes the site preparation for new kitchen equipment for Nutrition, Food & Services. The Contractor shall provide all the necessary labor, materials, coordination including coordination drawings and supervision for the work identified below. Work includes, to provide larger hood system; support the temporary relocation/protection of existing kitchen equipment including but not limited to four (4) full height Rational Ovens, one (1) countertop Rational Oven, one (1) griddle and one (1) Tilt Skillet; selective demolition required to accommodate the proposed equipment changes to support the transition to a Room Service Food Service model; and installation of required infrastructure to accommodate the proposed equipment changes to support the transition to a Room Service Food Service model. Work to be performed at VAMC Brockton in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specifications, Drawings, Federal, State, and Local Codes. All employees of general contractor and subcontractors shall comply with VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access. The Period of Performance for this project is 196 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The goal of this work is to enable the VA the ability to transition to a Food Service Model and to support newly proposed equipment. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220 and the size standard is $45 Million. The solicitation is being issued as an Invitation for Bids (IFB) under FAR Part 14. A bid bond is required, and the bid guarantee amount shall be at least 20 percent of the bid price but shall not exceed $3 million. This project is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
