Description
As the Army continues to evolve its readiness and adaptability to meet an ever-changing fight, so must the Command Post (CP). The future CP program must serve the needs of the Division as the Unit of Action and the lighter, more mobile units at BDE and below. Commanders must have the ability to setup and configure their CPs to meet unique mission and terrain needs and constraints. The desire to tailor the Command Post configuration must naturally be balanced with the DOTMLPF-P, acquisition, and cost considerations. PEO C3T wants to understand the art of the possible and is looking to industry to inform the acquisition strategy going forward. 1. Given the above, how would you design a tailorable, affordable, trainable, and dispersed Command Post? The Army would like to provide commanders options with possibly multiple configurations based on mission type and operating environment. What configurations, technologies, and options would you propose? a. How would you support this effort at the BCT/DIV echelon of the Army? b. How would you approach a vehicle agnostic CP maximizing dispersion, survivability, and mobility? What integrated technologies would enable this type of modular CP approach? c. What technologies and capabilities could be included in a transit case-based configuration? (CP equipment package that can be transferred to vehicle or building rapidly) d. What network transport diversification options would you offer to maximize CP mobility and dispersion while still maintaining robust collaboration across the CP? e. What accessories (tables, chairs, storage, etc.) would you include in each configuration that maintains the vehicle tailored/agnostic approach as much as possible? f. What On the Move (OTM) capabilities and technologies could be possible to enable all CP operations (Communications, Power, Collaboration, etc.)? 2. What core competencies does your company offer that align to the above? E.g. Digital engineering processes, manufacturing, software, platform integration, hardware and infrastructure agility, etc. 3. What acquisition strategy and contract mechanism would best align to this modular CP approach? What deliverables and prototyping opportunities would benefit the Army? Please include suggested incentive structures, high level schedule, and user engagement strategy. 4. Are there other considerations in the development of a future Command Post that the government has not yet considered?
