- This acquisition is for a commercial item or service and is conducted under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13�Simplified Acquisition Procedures; �and FAR Part 12�Acquisition of Commercial Items, and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. THIS IS A NON-COMPETITIVE (NOTICE OF INTENT) COMBINED SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT OR PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING BRAND-NAME).� The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisition (OA), on behalf of the the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition (including brand-name) to the following for the BioRAPTR 2 and PreciseDrop Liquid Dispensers software updates and remote service support: Let�s Go Robotics, Incorporated� 5751 Palmer Way, Suite D Carlsbad, CA 92008 This acquisition is conducted as non-competitive for a commercial item or service and is conducted pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The rationale for the sole source justification is that Let�s Go Robotics is the sole manufacturer, distributor, and support provider for the BioRAPTR 2s and PreciseDrop liquid dispensers. They are the only vendor who can provide the required software updates to these instruments.� This requirement is for the following services: The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Chemical Genomics Center requires remote quarterly software updates for its fleet of (23) BioRAPTR 2s and (2) PreciseDrop liquid dispensers. Additionally, the Contractor shall provide remote support for these devices on an as-needed basis. NCATS will coordinate with the Contractor in regards to scheduling software updates and providing remote access to the instruments.
