- Description
- The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess approved reseller relationships for information technology items, expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to modernize the display system for the SIL located at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB), Oklahoma. An upgraded and functional display system is required. The Contractor shall upgrade the SIL display by designing and installing a custom curved flight simulator screen to replace the display system currently used by the SIL. The upgrade also includes integrating the screen with projectors, hardware, and software currently owned by the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and includes integrating additional hardware, lenses and software required to upgrade the display. The Contractor shall be responsible for installing all identified equipment, including items owned by the DAF. The Contractor shall design the screen to operate with the SILs current image generator, shall make use of DAF-furnished projectors, and shall design the screen to fit within the SILs physical parameters. The Contractor shall implement an automated Shutter Control system and associated blinders for blending light sources. The Contractor shall buy upgrades to Scalable Display Manager software licenses, which will be installed by Government Personal on the current image generator. All software must be compatible with the image generator. This includes any software required for operation of distance and angle measurement equipment. The Contractor shall assist Government personal in setting up the software and hardware to perform warping and blending of images to create a continuous view. The Contractor shall be responsible for performing preparations for installation, which includes taking measurements, prototyping, delivering hardware, providing documentation to aid in security approvals, and developing the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The Contractor shall use commercial parts and materials and shall use commercially available-off-the-shelf (COTS) parts and material to the maximum extent practicable. In accordance with the mandates from DAF information technology (IT) supply chain risk management policy (DAFMAN 17-1203), the Contractor shall be an approved source for each IT hardware and software item. Of note, to be considered qualified for this requirement, a source must be an OEM-approved partner for Scalable Displays Inc. (Approved reseller status). Alternatives to Scalable Display software will not be considered because of brand name requirements. NOTE: Attached is the DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS) (Controlled), Qualified Parts List (QPL) (Controlled), and Drawings (Controlled). Access to these documents is restricted and may be accessed via approved DD Form 2345. Respondents must request access via SAM. Requesting access does not guarantee approval.
