Description
Scope A new pole with appropriate guide wires will be installed in the same location as the existing pole. Replacement of this pole will require the power supply to fish houses be disconnected. A temporary generator will need to be used to supply power to fish houses while repairs are being made.� A new mounting structure for the electrical equipment will also be installed in the same location as the existing mounting structure.� All work will conform to all relevant and enforceable electrical codes and industry standard practices for such installations. (PER ATTACHED SPECIFICATIONS) ���������� Disconnect main overhead powerlines from the existing pole and isolate to provide a safe workplace.� Temporary power to the fish houses and water pumps will be provided by existing emergency generator.� Disconnect existing generator from the existing leaning pole and electrical equipment.� Move all electrical equipment, (panel, breakers, transfer switch, etc.) in the current location that is necessary to use to continue power supply to fish houses and pumps by the emergency generator from the existing pole and install on temporary pole at a location suitable for the Lab personnel.�� Energize emergency generator and temporary panel to the 5 fish houses and water pumps and test for reliability. ���������� Remove old pole and install new pole of appropriate size. ���������� Install/anchor guide pole with guide wire on opposite side of concrete slab. ���������� Install guide wire from new power pole to new guide pole. ���������� Upgrade structure holding the electrical panels and transfer switch with rust resistant metal or approved, electrical rated, commercial synthetic material components. ���������� Remove and appropriately dispose of all old unused electrical boxes/equipment. ���������� Upgrade electrical panel with new 400-amp, 44 space, outdoor panel, and new breakers. ���������� Install new grounding rods as required by electrical code for new panel. ���������� Install new wires and conduit from panel up to overhead lines. ���������� All newly installed electrical connections and components (panels, breakers, etc.) on the new mounting structure, including existing transfer switch, must function properly and be accepted by Lab personnel after the emergency generator is re-hooked up to the new power pole.� Test emergency generator connection to the new pole to ensure that it�s operable. Contractor will verify all dimensions and site conditions prior to beginning work. Contractor shall provide labor, specified materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the job fully and completely.� Contractor will submit detailed submittals for approval by the site Research Leader prior to ordering and installing any equipment.� Installation of equipment will not interfere with research and will be always coordinated with the site Research Leader. The contractor shall always be responsible for safeguarding all Government property and his work and ensuring the safety of his crew and ARS employees. � The Contractor is required to secure their equipment and leave the site prior to lock down of the facility each day.� The premises shall be left in a clean, orderly, and acceptable condition.� The Government is not responsible for loss or damage to the Contractors� equipment during the contract. Government Furnished Property and Services The Government shall provide, without cost, the materials and services listed below.
