Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to REVVITY HEALTH SCIENCES, INC. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase a new equipment maintenance agreement for the VICTOR Nivo-Multimode Plate Reader PMA 4 (SN HH35L1021260). The Genomic Sequencing Laboratory (GSL) team of the Biotechnology Core Facility Branch (BCFB) provides sequencing services to many labs at CDC. The sequencing lab started with Sanger sequencing and has continued through 2nd and 3rd generation sequencing. Currently GSL hosts the two major next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies Illumina and PacBio. Genomic sequencing has become an important part of many programs here at CDC from developing databases for surveillance, strain identification and references to work on outbreaks. GSL provides service that is instrumental to these projects. The NGS workflows includes processing samples to make libraries that are compatible for Illumina or PacBio sequencer. With the amount of samples that the GSL processes each year (~10,000) and with many of those originating from disease outbreaks or requiring a clinical diagnosis, a rapid turn-around time for sample processing and data generation is essential to our work. This requires that all of our instruments are properly maintained and quickly repaired when issues arise so that we can continue to provide high quality data with excellent service to our fellow CDC stakeholders. The contractor will provide Gold Service Plan which includes 1 Preventive maintenance, unlimited repair service including non-consumable parts, labor, necessary replacement parts, travel and remote support, and a 15% discount on training and 10% discount on qualification services. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qsx8@cdc.gov by COB 5pm est, December 11, 2023.
