Description
The Defense Logistics Agency-Aberdeen, on behalf of the Army Integrated Logistics Supply Center (ILSC) � Supply Chain Management Directorate (SCMD) � Strategic Sourcing Directorate (SSD), intends to acquire Parts to support the EPP III Patriot Missile Defense System. Requirements Description: The EPP III (Electric Power Plant III) is the main electric power source for the PATRIOT Missile Defense System. The selected engine has been identified for maintenance and sustainment purposes and is used to drive the 150 kW Synchronous Generator Assembly.�� The current BF8L 513 series diesel engine manufactured by DEUTZ has been identified as going End-of-Life. It is an 8�cylinder diesel engine with exhaust�driven turbocharger and direct fuel injection, providing a continuous power output of 186kW at 2182 RPM. The air, fuel, and oil filters are dimensioned so that the Generator Set 150kW is suitable for desert conditions. An engine preheating assembly is provided to allow operations at less than -22 0F (-30 0C). Fuel is supplied from a tank with a diesel fuel capacity of 101.7 gallons (385 liters). With a full tank and at full load, operating time is approximately 10 hours (correspondingly longer at partial load). The current source for this engine is VINCORION POWER SYSTEMS GMBH CAGE: D0857. Detailed technical data for the manufacture or acceptance of this item is not available from the Army. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP) for the parts. The TDP is not available for release. The TDP includes level 3. production information. The following additional NAICS apply: 423830 Items and/or Services to Be Procured: NSN: 2815-12-341-6896 NOMENCLATURE: ENGINE, DIESEL PART NUMBER: 280.06.0071 CAGE: D0857 Requested Response Information: We request that sources who can supply the listed parts or services to submit information to show their capability to supply the equivalent or better engine assembly. At a minimum the support information you submit should include, but is not limited to, the following types of documentation: Questionnaire (shown below), information on previous Government and commercial contracts, data rights, etc.. In your response, please include your company name, CAGE code, and a technical point of contract with email address and telephone number. Notice, Response Due Date, and Points of Contact: This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this SSA or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSA. This Sources sought announcement (SSA) is for planning and market research purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business.� Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and/or to assist in making acquisition strategy decisions in the future.
