Description
Clean and Reseal Spillway Joints at Youghiogheny River Lake, Confluence, Pennsylvania This project is located within the concrete emergency spillway of Youghiogheny Dam. The project location is accessed from PA 281 in Confluence, PA, to Flanigan Rd, onto Hydro Ln across Youghiogheny Dam. An existing gravel berm allows vehicles to access the spillway. The existing emergency spillway is lined with concrete along the floor and walls. The project consists of cleaning all horizontal concrete joints of the spillway of existing sealant, vegetation, dirt, and debris, and re-sealing the joints with new sealant. Additionally, in areas of greater deterioration along joint lines, the existing concrete will be partially replaced 4-6 inches deep with new concrete, and the control joint re-established. Significant amounts of debris fall onto the spillway from the adjacent hillside and this debris will be removed by the Contractor prior to other work in the area. No work is to be performed on the spillway walls as part of this project. All parking facilities at Youghiogheny Dam including the Resource Office and Boat Launch are off limits to the Contractor for laydown and parking. The full area of the spillway is available for laydown, parking, and storage, and the Contractor will coordinate these needs with the sequence of spillway repair work. .**NOTICE** Information regarding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers process for settling requests for equitable adjustments and duration goals to achieve definitization of equitable adjustments for change orders under construction contracts can be found by going to https://www.usace.army.mil/Business-With-Us/Partnering/ then clicking on ?View FFP Contract Changes Playbook Here?
