Description
Modular, Fully Integrated, Full-size Feedstock and Waste Preprocessing Facility Opportunity: Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is actively seeking partners interested in leveraging our world-class capabilities for processing and separating waste, biomass, liquids, and other materials to achieve joint research, development, or demonstration goals. Our expertise can help you meet environmental and social objectives, secure critical material supply chains, or increase revenues. We welcome the opportunity to explore how we can work together to achieve your goals. As the home of the Department of Energy's (DOE) only feedstock preprocessing user facility, INL offers a wealth of equipment, technology, and expertise to help industries overcome various challenges such as preprocessing, scale-up, separation, integration, supply, logistics, sustainability, and characterization. We provide a range of assets to support your needs, including: A full-scale, fully integrated Process Development Unit: Our modular feedstock preprocessing plant enables industry partners to customize process flows and integrate third-party equipment for piloting a wide range of biomass preprocessing options. Additionally, equipment loan options allow some pieces of equipment to be transported to partner sites for seamless integration into their processes. A Characterization Laboratory: This resource helps identify important biomass/material variables, such as particle size, composition, and flowability. Our researchers analyze the connections between material properties, processing conditions, and feedstock quality, as it affects downstream products. An organized, secure Feedstock Library: Our library contains comprehensive information on the physical, chemical, and conversion performance characteristics of various biomass/materials. This resource is designed to help overcome challenges posed by biomass variability, enabling our partners to select the most suitable feedstock for their specific applications. INL is looking for partners who meet the following criteria: Seeking a longer-term strategic relationship to achieve mutual objectives and collaborate on funding opportunities. Capable of fully funding the work or meeting cost-share commitments to seek DOE or other funding at a minimum level of $200,000. Willing to collaborate under a DOE-approved mechanism, such as a User Facility Agreement, Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, or Strategic Partnership Project. Please note that INL is not a source of funding for this opportunity. All work performed at INL must be funded by your company or through funds received from government sources. We look forward to exploring the possibilities of working together to advance your research, development, and demonstration goals.
