DISCLAIMER This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION / SOURCES SOUGHT INQUIRY The VHA Regional Procurement Office West, Network Contracting Office 19 (NCO19), on behalf of The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center located at 1700 N. Wheeling Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80045 is seeking information and sources that can provide on-site Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) instrumentation and services for its Veteran population. Services include Neurophysiologic monitoring is the use of electrophysiological methods such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials to monitor the functional integrity of certain neural structures (e.g., nerves, spinal cord and parts of the brain) during surgery. The purpose of IONM is to reduce the risk to the patient of iatrogenic damage to the nervous system, and/or to provide functional guidance to the surgeon and anesthesiologist. Technicians must be board eligible/certified through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists. Proof of certification and continuing education will be provided upon request. Technical Proficiency: Technicians must have documented training to run the following modalities during surgical procedures: Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP), Electromyography (EMG) including Pedicle Screw and Direct Nerve Testing, Electroencephalography (EEG), Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP), Cranial Nerve EMG, including Facial Nerve Monitoring for ENT procedures, Peripheral Nerve Conduction, Transcranial Motor Evoked Potentials (TcMEP), Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR), Each surgical case must be supported with real-time data interpretation from a licensed MD. The requesting Surgeon is the Supervisor. Contracted services must be available 24/7. The contractor shall provide the services of a(n) intraoperative neurophysiologic technician(s) and required instrumentation to monitor the following surgical procedures Neurosurgical Cranial base tumors Posterior fossa tumors Microvascular Decompression Intracranial Aneurysms Fronto-temporal Tumors (motor cortex mapping) Temporo-parietal tumors Carotid Endarterectomy Anterior Cervical Diskectomy Anterior Corpectomy Anterior Vertebrectomy Thoracic laminectomy Lumbosacral decompression/stenosis Instrumentation for spinal instability (to include pedicle and lateral mass screws) Stabilization of odontoid/dens fracture Intramedullary or extramedullary spinal cord tumors Cauda equina tumors Spinal cord untethering Rhizotomy/ganglionectomy Selective dorsal rhizotomy Orthopedic Anterior cervical Diskectomy Anterior Corpectomy Anterior vertebrectomy Cervical laminectomy Thoracic laminectomy Lumbosacral decompression/stenosis 4.1.2.7. Instrumentation for spinal instability (to include pedicle and lateral mass screws) Stabilization of odontoid/dens fracture Scoliosis Correction Cardiothoracic Carotid Endarterectomy Carotid body tumor Subclavian-carotid bypass Extra cranial vascular reconstruction Otolaryngologic Revision mastoidectomy Acoustic neuroma Vestibular nerve section Cochlear implant Glomus tumor Parotidectomy Thyroidectomy Radical head and neck surgery Interventional Radiological Procedures Occlusion of brain-supplying arteries Embolization of cerebral and spinal aneurysms Embolizaiton of cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformations Embolizaiton of traumatic cavernous sinus fistula Spinal angiography and transvascular therapy Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty Type of Contract: If this request for information leads to a future solicitation, the Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract. The performance period shall be one (1) base period with four (4); one (1) option periods. This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation! This is not a request for proposal (RFP). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice.
