Description
Subject: Provision of American Sign Language (ASL) Services for the Department of the Air Force Disability Program Managers Introduction: The Air Force Disability Program Managers (DAF DPM) is responsible for spearheading accessibility initiatives to foster an inclusive culture and leverage diverse organizational talent, thereby enhancing mission effectiveness for individuals with disabilities within the United States Air Force (USAF).� As part of our commitment to ensuring effective communication and accessibility, we are seeking information from qualified vendors capable of providing ASL services in support of our mission. Scope of Work: The selected contractor(s) will be tasked with providing ASL services and deliverables by qualified, certified interpreters.� These services will be rendered to uniformed military personnel, civilian staff, and installation visitors across various locations, including the Continental United States (CONUS), Alaska, Hawaii, and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) in foreign locations.� The contractor(s) shall collaborate closely with DAF DP to facilitate in-person and virtual interpreter services, ensuring seamless support for DAF-wide missions. �Background: The services rendered must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title V, Section 501, which mandates reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities, and Title V, Section 504, prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities in federal programs or programs receiving federal financial assistance.� Furthermore, compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Tilte II, which mandates effective communication with individuals having communication disabilities is essential. Task Descriptions: The contractor(s) shall provide sign language interpreter(s) capable of offering simultaneous interpretation or alternative effective communications for both CONUS and OCONUS locations, supporting the overarching mission of the USAF.� Key responsibilities include: Translating written material Providing interpretation of oral communication to and from English, including simultaneous, consecutive, escort, community, telephonic, and voiceovers Collecting, translating, interpreting, and delivering mission-related data, which may involve analyzing and interpreting technical terminology Assisting with and performing data analysis to translate materials of a technical nature for related projects, program management, and translation of supervisory control functions while upholding confidentiality and professionalism standards Interpreters with security clearances that range from SECRET to TOP SECRET Company Information: Company Name: Mailing Address: �Name/phone/email of Corporate Point of Contact (POC): Name/phone/email of Technical POC: CAGE Code: DUNS Number: Small Business Status: Anticipated Tasks: Company profile highlighting relevant experience in providing ASL services to government agencies or similar organizations Description of interpreter qualifications and certification process Overview of technological capabilities for facilitating virtual interpreter services Approach to ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 Market Research Questions: Is Video Remote Interpreting used and/or provided by your agency when providing interpreter services?
