- DISCLAIMER. This Sources Sought notice is for informational purposes only. A sources sought is a means of market research to determine if a set-aside of-a-type is appropriate. This notice is not restricted to small businesses. Large businesses should also respond with capability statements as this will provide a clearer understanding of the current market. Based on the information received the Government may change the initial acquisition strategy.� � This notice does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government is under no obligation to make an award resulting from this announcement. Any information submitted by a respondent is strictly voluntary. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement.�� Notice of Intent. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is issuing this notice to determine if other sources of supply are capable of manufacturing or legitimately obtaining and providing holistic parts support for all 525 items listed on the attached GE T408 Engine Parts List, comprising of 277 NSNs and 248-part numbered items. Sources shall be a qualified representative of the manufacturer�s equipment specified and capable of providing warranty and holistic T408 engine parts support. DLA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. GE is the only known source of supply for the T408 engine platform that possess the requisite knowledge, technical expertise, special skills, technical data rights, facilities, and experience to provide holistic spare parts support. The intent is to award these items on a sole source, long-term contract to GE (99207, 07482). Interested and responsible sources are invited to submit a capabilities statement of their ability to meet this requirement, which may not include any new or non-recurring design effort. Responses shall not be more than three (3) pages with attachments and must include the name and address of the company, CAGE code, business size status, point of contact name, title, phone, and email and include documentation demonstrating adequate financial resources, satisfactory record of integrity and business ethics, experience, accounting and operational controls, technical skills, management resources and facilities or the ability to obtain them. For subcontracting opportunities, please contact General Electric directly. If your company desires to be reviewed and qualified as an ""Approved Source"" for any item(s), send an email to , subject ""request a SAR drop off.� A SAR package shall contain all the technical data needed to demonstrate that the prospective contractor can competently manufacture the product to the same level of quality, or better, than the required item. The onus is on the contractor to document and demonstrate their product is equal to or better than the currently approved item in which DLA is procuring. Feedback or evaluations will not be provided to companies regarding their submissions. A determination to not compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.�
