PROGRAM BACKGROUND This sources sought notice has been initiated in response to a requirement for Production, Engineering, Technical, and Logistics Support Services for the OT-228/U CIRCM System. The OT-228/U CIRCM system consists of two (2) Pointer Trackers (PTs), two (2) lasers, and one (1) System Processor Unit (SPU). CIRCM is the next generation lightweight, laser-based infrared countermeasure component that will interface with both the Armys Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) and future missile warning systems (MWS) to defeat current and emerging missile threats to target rotary-wing, tilt-rotor and small fixed-wing aircraft across the DoD. CIRCM receives hand-off from the MWS and employs a pointing and tracking system to track incoming missiles. CIRCM jams the missile by using laser energy, thus degrading the tracking capability of the missile and causing it to miss the aircraft. CIRCM is utilizing Open Systems Architecture which allows flexibility with software and hardware refreshes to keep pace with future threats.
