Description
This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source. The USDA, Forest Service, Caribbean Climate Hub Support intends to sole source to Dr. Luis Alexis Rodriguez Cruz, UEI # LL3PMYE2NVX9 in accordance with FAR 13.5 � Sole source (including brand name) acquisitions. �This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations or proposals.� Closing date of Notice: April 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM (EST). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561620 The size standard is $19M.� Period of Performance is from April 22,2024, through April 21, 2027.� Total Estimated Value $270,000.00 The contractor will be required to provide the following scientific research tasks/services to the Climate Hub: 1) Identify the climate change literacy level among at least 40 clinicians in 8 CHCs, emphasizing climate-related hazards, including occupational risks faced by agricultural workers and farmers.� 2) Evaluate the adequacy and usefulness of educational resources and tools available for the clinicians to impact at least 400 farmers, farmworkers, and farming community members. � 3) Adapt and create a curriculum for CHC clinicians that includes culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate tools and resources for the farming communities they serve in Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.� 4) Pilot and validate the adapted/developed tools and resources with 2 CHCs, their staff, and the farming communities they serve.� 5) Scale up the program to reach an additional 6 CHCs in order to disseminate and use the adapted tools and resources to reach an additional 1,200 farmers, farmworkers, and farming community members.� 6) Evaluate the impact of the program and the use of the tools and resources among clinicians, farmers, and farmworkers.� 7) Disseminate project events, resources, and results.� 8) Develop Peer Reviewed Research Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this notice of proposed contract action.
