- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent, published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1), requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions.� Military Sealift Command (MSC), Norfolk, VA, intends to negotiate and award a bridge contract for the procurement of operation and maintenance (O&M) services in support of USNS GUAM with Seaward Services, Inc. (CAGE Code 43964).� For this proposed contract action, the Government intends to negotiate and award, to only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, ""Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements.""� Seaward Services, Inc. is currently the only licensed and trained contactor with the appropriate Class training and is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government�s requirements on a timely basis and in a cost effective manner.��This notice is for a bridge contract period consisting of one six-month base period, three two month options, and FAR 52.217-8 for a total potential period of 18 months, to ensure continuity of essential services while the competitive follow-on contract is being finalized.� Award of this bridge contract action is expected by June 2024. �� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotations.� The Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. �A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. � Responses shall be made in writing by e-mail to the attention of Vanessa Schwaner and Sebastian Edwards, using the contact information provided in this notice. �
