U.S. Army DEVCOM Soldier Center Industry Day � May 30, 2024 The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC) is committed to discovering, developing, and advancing science and technology solutions that ensure America�s warfighters are optimized, protected, and lethal. To support the center�s Soldier-focused mission, DEVCOM SC will host an Industry Day to connect with potential partners from small and large businesses and institutions of higher learning, and to inform them about the SC�s mission and opportunities for collaboration. When: May 30, 2024 (Thursday), 8:00 AM � 4 PM Where: U.S. DOT John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, 220 Binney St., Cambridge, MA 02142 The event will feature plenary presentations in the morning, including an overview of Soldier Center�s mission, vision, and structure from Mr. Douglas Tamilio, the Director of Soldier Center, and a keynote speech by Brigadier General Christopher Schneider, the Program Executive Officer of Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier. The morning presentations will also highlight Soldier Center�s thrust areas, capabilities, S&T strategy, and various collaboration mechanisms. In the afternoon, Soldier Center subject matter experts (SMEs) will present posters on the areas of interest and participants will have opportunities to meet one-on-one with Soldier Center SMEs (see details below). A detailed agenda will be provided prior to the Industry Day via an amendment to this posting. All briefings and one-on-one discussions will be conducted at the unclassified level. Notes: This is an in-person event, and there is no charge for attendance. Registration: To attend, you must register no later than May 15, 2024 at: https://einvitations.afit.edu/inv/anim.cfm?i=848827&k=0A654A017950 There will not be on-site registration. If your name is not on the list of participants, you will not be allowed to enter the U.S. DOT Volpe Center. Security Procedures: Industry Day participants must present valid photo identification and pass a security checkpoint to enter the U.S. DOT Volpe Center. Valid photo identifications include Real ID and Enhanced Drivers Licenses, U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, U.S. permanent resident card, Personal Identification Verification (PIV) card, Common Access Card (CAC), and foreign government-issued passport. For a full list of accepted identification as well as items prohibited in the facility, visit https://www.volpe.dot.gov/about-us/contact-us. Federal employees should bring either a PIV card or CAC. There will be no on-site visitor parking. A list of private parking garages near the Volpe Center will be emailed to registrants. One-on-one meeting: Prospective participants can request up to two (2) one-on-one meetings in the topic areas listed below. To request a one-on-one meeting, complete a quad chart using the template included in Attachments and send it to yoojeong.kim.civ@army.mil by May 15. The DEVCOM SC will make every effort to ensure sufficient representation are available for meetings. However, due to limited timeslots, we do not guarantee that all requests will be accepted. Each one-on-one meeting will be no more than 15 minutes. Confirmations for one-on-one meetings will be sent by emails no later than May 23, 2024. One-on-one meeting topic areas: Protected, Unburdened & Enabled Soldier Increased Soldier Protection (Arctic Equipment & Environmental Capabilities; Clothing and Individual Equipment Designed with PFAS Alternative Solutions; Protection, Active Anti-Fog Capability, and Variable Transmission; Body and Face Protection from High-Energy Directed Weapons) Advanced Materials for Ballistic Protection (Helmets/Body Armor with Increased Threat Level Protection; Eyewear/Torso Increased Fragmentation Protection) Reduction of Soldier Load Soldier / Robotics to Offload Soldier Load Understanding and Modeling of Soldier Load Soldier/Squad Equipment Integration Human Performance Technologies Human Machine Integration PFAS-Free Textiles Contested Logistics/Sustained Soldier Small Unit Water Generation Lighter, Nutrient-Dense Rations Longer Shelf-Life Rations Hydration Management and Sensing Novel/Low-Cost Solutions for Re-supply to Remote Locations Power Generation On-Soldier Energy Management Biotechnology Solutions to Produce Food Closer to the Point-Of-Need Next Generation of Static Line Initiated Parachute Systems Offsetting Vulnerabilities/Invisible Soldier Ability to Hide in All Environments Camouflage, Concealment, and Deception across the Electromagnetic Spectrum (Both Soldier and Small Unit) General Information: This Industry Day notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes, and all information provided is subject to change. It does not constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This Industry Day Notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service, whatsoever. Furthermore, the Government is not seeking proposals, and no contracts will be awarded during the Industry Day or as a result of the Industry Day activities. Responders are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Industry Day Notice. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any attendee for travel expenses or marketing efforts. All costs associated with responding to this Industry Day Notice will be solely at the responding party's expense.
