This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS and is for informational / market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION OR BID, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or on any follow up information. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify capable, potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic programs. NAICS Code: 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing Small Business Size Standard: 1,000 Employees PSC/FSC: 6640 Laboratory Equipment and Supplies GENERAL INFORMATION: The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to procure Lonza 4D-Nucleofector Cell Transfection Device (BRAND NAME OR EQUAL) that is specifically created and optimized to introduce DNA and other biomolecules into these cells without killing or damaging the cells, for the VA Portland Health Care System. The salient characteristics of the required item include the following: Item: Lonza 4-D Nucleofector core unit (controller) with X unit (for use with cuvettes and 16 well plates) Performance requirements: The equipment must be able to transfect primary and hard to transfect cells in cuvettes or 16 well strips. The application that this device will be used for is transfecting or introducing DNA into single-celled organisms that are fragile and difficult to genetically manipulate. Warranty: Minimum one-year warranty The item is to be delivered to the Portland VA Health Care System where it will be used. INSTRUCTIONS TO RESPOND TO SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Any vendor interested and capable of meeting this requirement should provide a written statement to the Contracting Officer. Vendor response must include at a minimum: Point of Contact Business size Short Description of Capabilities VetCert certification (if applicable) SAM registration (https://sam.gov) Unique Entity ID (UEI#) Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence of the Vendor s capability of meeting this requirement. Please note, responses will be shared within the Government and project team, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence.
