Original Response: Detail 6/AD501 is for the removal of the roofing, insulation, and stone ballast for the stair roof alternates at building 200N. 5/28/2024 Additional Response: All of the roofs on this project have stone ballast that will need to be removed. BID INSTRUCTIONS A. A single award will be made on Item No. I (Base Bid), but in the event the offer exceeds the funds available, a single award will be made on subsequent Bid Items (Deduct Alternates) with multiply items combined, if necessary, based on available funding. Offerors should quote a price on each item listed. 2. BID ITEM II, DEDUCT ALTERNATE Number 1: Perform all work as stated in Bid Item I, and delete the removal and replacement of the stair tower roofs at 200N. This work includes removal and replacement of roof membrane insulation, ballast, perimeter aluminum coping and wood blocking, down to the metal roof deck. The aluminum roof scupper and downspout are also part of this work. C. BID ITEM III, DEDUCT ALTERNATE Number 2: Perform all work as stated in Bid Items I and II, and delete removal and replacement of the stair roof at ICU. This work includes the removal and replacement of the stair roof and insulation down to the metal roof deck. This work includes removal of the metal coping, and work blocking, and the flashing at the adjacent masonry wall. D. BID ITEM IV, DEDUCT ALTERNATE Number 3: Perform all work as stated in Bid Items, I, II, and III, and delete the painting of the vertical pipe intersection and wall bracket at the existing pipe railings at 200N at South, East, and West elevations. This work includes the repair, of the vertical post (plates) and brackets from the bottom horizontal pipe rail to the bottom of the brackets, grind and clean metal free of corrosion, prime and paint with galvanized paint. This is to be done for all vertical posts. E. BID ITEM V, DEDUCT ALTERNATE Number 4: Perform all work as stated in Bid Items I, II, III, IV, and delete the removal and replacement of the low roof over the vestibule at 200N. This work includes removal and replacement of the low roof, insulation, roof membrane, and ballast system down to the metal roof deck. The perimeter flashing, and wood blocking also needs to be removed and replaced. The perimeter wall flashing and roof edge flashing is also part of this work. There is also an expansion joint at the east side of the roof that is part of this work.
