- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) Reclamation has a need for power potential transformers for the Hungry Horse Field Office (Reservoir). Hungry Horse Power Plant has an urgent need to purchase replacement power potential transformers (PPT) for the generators in the Dam. The transformers are critical to the function of the generators. Without the associated PPT, the effected generator is not functional and is commercially out of service until the PPT is replaced. Through normal testing requirements, two (2) of the four generators were tested in November with Unit 4 data completely failing testing requirements and Unit 3 testing data just above failure threshold requirements and has now blown two (2) fuses for yet undetermined reasons. Units one (1) and two (2) are now on construction outages due to wind damage. This will be a Brand Name Sole Source for the Hungry Horse Field Office in Hungry Horse, MT 59919. This acquisition is 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES. We anticipate issuing a Request for Quotes (RFQ) by May 29, 2024, but all dates in this notice are subject to change. Any amendments applicable to the solicitation will be posted at the same site. Reclamation intends to award one firm firm-fixed-price contract. The anticipated date to issue the Request for Quote, 140R1724Q0051, (written) is approximately the fifth week of May. The anticipated closing date is the first week of June. The anticipated award date is the first week of June. Prospective vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to the closing of this solicitation. This supply will be purchased in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures apply. This will be a brand name specific purchase due to the urgent and compelling need of transformers. The Government will evaluate quotes based on factors listed in the solicitation.
