Description
Pre-Solicitation On or about 19 June 2024, the Government intends to issue the Step-One Invitation for Bid (IFB) Garrsion Dam Spillway Approach Dredge. The Step-One IFB will close on or about 19 July 2024. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. Site Visit: A Site Visit will be scheduled and additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation via FAR Clause 52.236-27. The site visit is tentatively scheduled for the week of 9 July 2024. Project Description: The requirement for this project is to remediate and control the sediment that has been accumulating upstream of the Garrison Dam spillway structure above the flood gates. This rehabilitation project consists of three (3) main features of work: 1. The first feature is repairing and armoring a portion of the eastern channel bank. This involves dredging material in the spillway in front of the bank, sloping the embankment, placing bedding, fabric, aggregate, mesh, post and riprap needed to build the slope to the design provided by the government. 2. The second feature of work is performing further dredging on the upstream side of the tainter gates. This will allow for free gate operation and allow the bubbler system to perform as designed keeping the front of the gates free of ice in the winter. 3. The third feature of work is building a retention sediment ponding facility at a location below the dam between the spillway and the fish hatchery. The dredged material will be piped over to this facility where the sediment will settle out per the government design. The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 890 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after IFB issuance. Estimated Construction Costs (only include if applicable): The estimated construction cost of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. NAICS Code: The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is 237990, Heavy and Other Civil Engineering Construction, with a size standard for Small Business of $45M.
