- Brand Name or Equal�� Salient Characteristics Functions to be performed: The Richmond VA Medical Center Community Living Center currently uses Joerns bed systems for elderly resident care. The items needed are to be brand named or equal to the Joerns EasyCare adjustable hospital beds with the ProCair mattresses. D�cor must be in line with a home-like atmosphere. Therefore, the Interior Designer has selected the laminate spiced cherry headboard and footboard colors. Additionally, the beds must be adjustable, mobile, and provide safety features for residents and staff members. Ten standard beds are required, as well as one bariatric-rated bed for the one bariatric resident room. Performance required: The beds must have laminate panels to math a home-like atmosphere. The wheels at the four corners of the bedframe must be able to turn 360 degrees. There must also be a lockable wheel feature to ensure beds will not move when stationary. The beds will be stationed in individual resident rooms, but they must also be mobile for transferring residents when necessary. The beds will include mattresses, air pumps, and adjustable bed rails. Essential physical characteristics: 10 standard electronic adjustable hospital beds: With laminate spiced cherry headboard and footboard. Adjustable bed rails. Adjustable height. At least 76� L, adjustable to 42� W. Back angle adjustable to 65 degrees horizontal. Knee angle adjustable to 35 degrees horizontal. 1 bariatric electronic adjustable hospital bed: No color choice necessary. Can accommodate up to 700 lbs. Expandable width from the standard 36� to at least 48�. Expandable length. Adjustable height. 10 standard-size mattresses designed for elderly care and to prevent injury. Inner air core that automatically adjust to accommodate entire body profile and weight. Head, torso, and feet therapy zones Topper included: At least one inch thick Fluid proof Zipper for removal Air control to adjust firmness of mattress. 1 bariatric mattress designed for elderly patient injury prevention. Accommodate at least 700 pounds. Elastic covered, expandable foam mattress. Attachable mattress side panels to accommodate various widths and lengths easily; leaving no gaps between the frame and the mattress. 1� foam mattress topper. Moisture resistant. 10 air pumps that can inflate the purchased mattresses. Adjustable wheels on all beds at all four corners, for mobility. Lockable wheels safety feature. Installation included. At least a four-year electrical component warranty.
