Description
We are conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and manufacturing experience to produce BRU-57 smart bomb racks. This system is not a commercial item. The Government owns limited data for BRU-57. The Government does not possess some of the Technical Data Package (TDP). If this missing TDP cannot be obtained from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), L3Harris and Cage Code 82340, then it will be necessary to re-engineer portions of the electronics and possibly rewrite software/firmware code. Furthermore, any re-engineering will likely need to be qualified to the BRU-57 System Specifications, and pass environmental testing, integration, and flight testing. The Government believes a significant amount of reverse engineering or development on the part of the vendor will be required. A requirement exists to support F-16 aircraft production with BRU-57 Bomb Racks. The purpose of this effort is to procure BRU-57 Bomb Racks. The following significant NSNs are included with the BRU-57 system: 1095-01-483-3827 1095-01-523-3337 5998-01-522-3874 5998-01-522-7603 6130-01-523-3338 1095-01-523-5767 1095-01-523-5773 6130-01-523-3339 Noun: BRU-57/A Micro-Control Assembly Power Relay Assembly Digital Interface Assembly Power Supply Assembly High Band Width Bus Buffer Assembly 28V Power Supply The BRU-57 is comprised of two BRU-46 bomb release racks, a strong back assembly, seven Electronic Component Assemblies (ECA) and the associated wiring. It attaches to the F-16 fighter aircrafts weapons pylon to allow carriage of two smart weapons instead of one. An F-16 can carry two BRU-57s, one on pylon station 3 and another on station 7. This increases the F-16 capacity for smart weapons from two to four. It receives power and data from the F-16 cockpit. The power and signals are addressed by the ECAs to independently control and program the appropriate weapon. The BRU-57 can communicate with F-16s in the legacy MIL-STD-1760 or Universal Armament Interface (UAI) interface. The BRU-57 carries a number of smart weapons used by the USAF and some FMS customers. Contractor shall furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services. The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractors facility. Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement shall equal or exceed the quality of the OEM material or parts. Contractors responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey.
