Description
Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Testing Questions and Answers: In the SOW, section 1.3, ""VA will receive 154 hours per year for service and preventative fire sprinkler maintenance and installation."" Please clarify.  ""Installation"" projects are treated differently and do not typically fall under ""preventative maintenance"".  These ""installation""   projects are typically designed by a VA FPE (fire protection engineer) and generally fall under a construction RFP/RFQ. Installation is only if a head needs to be relocated, raised or lowered. This is not for projects. In section 1.4, the VA is entitled to 4 8-hour days of afterhours service per quarter.   Does this include emergency call outs for the sprinkler fitter/technician or fire alarm technician only? Fire Alarm only In section 1.6, ...annual testing and inspection of the complete fire alarm system in October. There is no mention of any sprinkler quarterly, semi-annual or annual testing and inspection.  Will the contractor be responsible for testing and inspecting the sprinkler system, according to the NFPA, during the term of this contract? Sprinkler is tested in house and is not part of this contract In section 1.7, Fire Alarm Technician must be able to respond to fire alarm emergency call outs within 1 hour from the time of call.   Within that 1-hour response time, does a phone call to the property/fire department/engineer on duty, constitute and fall within the required ""1 hour response for the fire alarm technician and sprinkler fitter/technician""?  Call does not count and it is only for fire alarm and not sprinkler In Supplies, section 2.2, ""...parts needed for repairs or fire pump maintenance."" How many fire pumps does the current facility have? Only one (diesel pump) In Qualifications and Rules for Fire Alarm, section M, ""be responsible for any ceiling tiles that may become damaged during construction."" Is the contractor ""responsible"" for supplying the ceiling tiles or are tiles available through the VA maintenance department for replacement if they become damaged Contractor is responsible for any tiles that they damage.
